Parco della Musica, Smith’s Scottish Jazz comes to Soscia & Jodice’s Mare Nostrum

2196

Giuliana Soscia & Pino Jodice, after the publication of eight albums and their worldwide performances on stages, keep going together on their intense and creative path and produce a new project called “North Wind”, in collaboration with the Scottish saxophonist Tommy Smith as special guest, who already worked with them in the past separately.
Giuliana Soscia collaborated with Tommy Smith as a solo artist with SNJO/Scottish National Jazz Orchestra, directed by the same Smith in a 2008 Scottish tour with a “Omaggio ad Astor Piallozza” at Edinburgh “Queen’s Hall”, at Glasgow “RSAMD”, Stirling “Mac Robert Art Centre” and “Saint Andrews” Byre Theatre.
Pino Jodice realized an album called “High Tension” in 2006 that has been really appreciated by Italian critics. This album was recorded with the American Dick Oatts, who also collaborated as an arranger for the SNJO Scottish National Jazz Orchestra, writing music for international important hosts, such as Bradford Marshall, John Scofield, Gary Burton and more other significant jazz artists. “North Wind ” is a really interesting and multi-colored jazz project, it is a musical journey which starts from the cold North Scottish seas and ends in our Mediterranean sea passing through Smith, Jodice and Soscia’s music and compositions.
