This new production, created by Valentino Garavani and Giancarlo Giammetti in collaboration with Teatro dell’Opera dI Roma is made by an extraordinary group at artists, like Valentino, who designed its principal costumes, Sofia Coppola in her first experience as a grand opera director and the brilliant scenographer Nathan Crowley.

Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli, the creative directors of Maison Valentino, created Flora and the choir’s costumes. Flora’s dresses were sewn into the Alta Moda Maison Valentino’s atelier, with Violetta’s ones, designed by Valentino Gravani, while the choir’s ones were made in collaboration with the Teatro dell’Opera costume shop. The Teatro dell’Opera orchestra will be directed by the Cremona Master Jader Bignamini, a director associated with the Milan Verdi Orchestra and strongly tied to Parma’s Festival Verdi. Sofia Coppola, a celebrity of the American cinema, in her first experience with opera direction, has been chosen by Valentino as he saw the movie “Marie Antoniette”, in which the Oscar Award Winner actress showed a particular aesthetic and musical sensitiveness balanced between the classic and the modern style.
