Shakespeare’s “Nothing” makes the Globe Theatre laugh. “Much Ado About Nothing” for the entire month of August in Rome

2195

The entire month of August, in the Globe Theatre, will be dedicated to a great success of the Globe’s organization which made laugh and dance spectators of all ages: Much Ado About Nothing, directed by Loredana Scaramella, that comes back to the scene from 5th to 30th august  at 9:15 pm. “Much Ado About Nothing” is an illuminating tale about the word’s power, a brilliant and funny consideration on how an hard moment can turn to a possibility of a personal and collective growth. A group of soldiers, coming back from the World War, invades the palace and the space of women. Benedict and Beatrice, winners of their own alliance, keep on arguing with a series of ironic lines, in front of the entertained public. But destiny sets aside a big prof for them, before the peace is ratified by a double wedding.

«Much Ado About Nothing is an illuminating tale about the word’s power, – the director wrote – a comedy invaded by an enlightening joy anf made more blinding by a soft shadow that goes through it sometimes». All the reading keys are kept in this  play, and they are all hidden «in that nothing apparently inoffensive. Nothing as a basso continuo counterposed to the sound of too many words, to the frenzy that leads men to love, play, hope, fight. This frenzy, which has its fulfillment in the sexual arousal, explodes in a cozy house made of parties and dance, in summer, in a sunny Sicily, a place which meant to Shakespeare exoticism and sensuality that we move to an ideal Salento, illuminated by the same sun which intensifies the contrasts of the chessboard of the trousseaux hanged to bleach, while the voices fly over the scene  to build enticements and song which make stronger the musical structure already suggested by the text ».And nothing, in its jargon and ancient shape, allude to the feminine gender, around which so much noise acts up, and it takes us closer to the main theme.
